Rowdies to return to USL-1 in 2010

New owners announced a throwback to earlier times today with the return of the Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer team to the USL First Division. Speaking for the ownership group, which included two other partners, local restaurateur David Laxer and Boston resident Hinds Howard, Rowdies President and CEO Andrew Nestor gave a synopsis of what soccer fans can expect.
Piranhas to host USL Championships
W-League and USL Super-20 League Finals headed to Virginia Beach
USL announced today that the hosting rights for the 14th Annual W-League Championship tournament and the Third Annual Super-20 League North American Finals have been awarded to the longtime USL club, the Hampton Roads Piranhas. The W-League Semifinals and Final are set for Thursday, July 31 and Saturday, August 2. The 24-team Super-20 League North American Finals will officially begin Thursday, July 31 and run through Sunday, August 3.
USL on FSC schedule set
25 USL-1 games highlight schedule again in 2008
United Soccer Leagues announced today the USL on Fox Soccer Channel schedule for the 2008 season. The schedule, comprised of 28 games in all, features all four senior league championship games along with 22 regular season USL-1 matches and three USL-1 postseason fixtures.
USL reaffirms partnership with Sprinturf
Heading into its third year of the deal, United Soccer Leagues and Sprinturf reaffirmed their partnership that makes Sprinturf an Official Supplier and the Official Turf Supplier of United Soccer Leagues. Sprinturf designs, manufactures, installs and services artificial turf systems that look, feel and play like natural grass – but are safer and far more durable.
