Professional Experience and Honors:
2004: In his first year in the A-League, Delicâte began an impressive professional career, finishing the season as the Kickers second leading scorer with 20 points.  Recording the most assists on the team with six, he appeared in 31 games in 2004.  He was named to the A-League Team of the Week for the first time for a goal and assist in the 2-1 victory in Syracuse on June 25th and was ranked in the top 20 point leaders and top 10 assist leaders in the A-League.     

College Experience and Honors:
2003: Matthew led the team in scoring with 39 points (15 goals, 9 assists), the third highest in school history.  The 2003 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year, Delicâte led the league in scoring as well. 
2002: Delicâte recorded career highs in goals (12 and points (26) en route to being named second team All-Colonial Athletic Association for the second straight year.  He also made the All-Virginia second team and ranked second in goals and fifth in points in the CAA.  He was selected to the Verizon Academic All-America third team and earned MVP honors at the CAA Tournament after scoring two goals and one assist in two games.
2001: Matthew was a second-team All-CAA selection and led the Rams in goals scored with 11.  He ranked third in CAA in that category and fifth in total points (22). 
2000: Delicâte was the only freshman to play in every game, starting 13.  He led the team in goals with six and was named to the Nike/ALLTELL Soccer Classic all-tournament team. 

Delicâte is VCU’s career leader with 44 goals and 13 assists for 101 points.  A natural goal scorer, he had 16 game-winning goals in his career and was the first Ram to ever reach the century mark in career points.  As a member of the Richmond Kickers Future (PDL), Delicâte led the team in points with 32 on 15 goals and two assists in 2003.  He logged over 2, 700 minutes on the field in 34 games, scoring a total of 25 goals and 55 points total during his two years with the Future.

Personal:
Named to VCU Dean’s List in both fall 2000 and spring 2001…Son of Catherine Costelloe and Malcolm Delicâte…Studied physics and French.
