US Open Cup resumes Tuesday
MLS teams begin play; five games on USLlive.com
The 2009 edition of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup continues Tuesday evening with the first six of the eight matches set for the Third Round of the tournament. Round three, which concludes with two matches Wednesday, features the introduction of the eight qualified MLS clubs facing five remaining USL-1 teams, two from USL-2 and Ocean City of the PDL.

U.S. Soccer has determined the possible pairings for the Quarterfinals of the 2009 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The matches will be played on July 7 and feature the winners of the tournament’s Third Round matches, to be played on June 30 and July 1 across the United States.

The Second Round of the 2009 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup proved to be a thriller as two of the eight contests required penalty kicks to decide a winner while two others needed overtime, including one of the two narrow affairs that finished 1-0 - an upset by the Premier Development League’s Ocean City Barons.

U.S. Soccer has announced the third round possible pairings for the 2009 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Results from the second round of play on June 16 will determine the matchups and venues for the third round to take place on June 30.
