MIAMI, FL -- Miami FC returned to its winning mindset by beating Lynch's FC team this Tuesday night at Tropical Park Stadium by a final score of 2-1. Two second half goals in the span of sixty seconds broke a four game scoreless streak, leading the team to the second round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

The Blues will travel to Vancouver to battle the 2008 USL-1 Champions, the Vancouver Whitecaps on Friday, June 12th. The team will then face the Charleston Battery on June 16th at Tropical Park. Miami FC's next home game is on June 14th at Lockhart Stadium against the Austin Aztex.
The first half opened with plenty of chances for the Blues. In the second minute, Connally Edozien missed a one-on-one opportunity with Lynch's FC goalkeeper Gregg Williams.
Two minutes later, Edozien found the left flank and crossed an admirable ball for Paulo Jr. The Brazilian forward's header was denied by the post. Paulo Jr. got another chance, but his shot inside the box sailed wide left.
Towards the end of the first half, a Chris Williams mishap inside the box resulted in a Lynch's FC penalty kick. Although Pat Hannigan got a hand on it, Carl Catullo's penalty continued over the line for the first goal of the match.
The second half showed some of Miami FC's best soccer. In the 64th minute, the Blues scored two goals back to back and ended a 450 minute scoreless streak, securing the team's first victory since April 24th.
"This team is young and they receive a lot of pressure from everyone, the coaching staff, the front office and the fans. This win is an important win for their confidence. I think the team is looking better, I especially liked what they did in the second half," said Head Coach Zinho.
The first goal came from an individual play by Danny Vasquez off the left flank. After faking the cross, Vasquez was knocked down inside the box; however, the referee allowed the play to continue and Serna one-timed it towards Paulo Jr. for the score.
Diego Serna's goal came off the ensuing kick off. Alen Marcina gave Serna a perfect ball to leave him one-on-one with the goalie. After an excellent juke, Serna pushed the ball towards an empty net, scoring his third goal in a Miami FC uniform.
After their game in Vancouver, Miami FC comes home to face the Austin Aztex at Lockhart Stadium on June 14th. Miami FC will face the Charleston Battery next Tuesday, June 16th at Tropical Park, For more information please visit www.miamifc.com
